Why does Bill O'Reilly and Fox News get away with the things they say about Muslims. If anyone said some of the things they said about Muslims being "violent" or "the enemy" about Christians they would get hung from the highest tree. America holds true to its reputation as the melting pot. After all thats what a melting pot does. It strips ingredients of independent characteristics and combines them into one indistinguishable material. America should be a salad bowl which while united under one common theme values each ingredient for its own characteristics. In a salad the tomato, cucumber and lettuce are all appreciated for their variety of flavor and independent characteristics. Thus, I ask you fellow Americans to see your self not as a melting pot, but instead as a salad bowl, united and varied.
